Job Descrip­tion

Funam­bules Médias is seek­ing a cre­ative and social­ly engaged indi­vid­ual to fill a pro­duc­tion coor­di­na­tion posi­tion. Under the super­vi­sion of the gen­er­al coor­di­na­tor, the select­ed per­son will be respon­si­ble for orga­niz­ing the 15th edi­tion of Ciné­ma sous les étoiles in the Brome-Mis­sisquoi region and will work in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the entire team. They may also be involved in oth­er orga­ni­za­tion’s dis­sem­i­na­tion projects. The can­di­date will be involved in stim­u­lat­ing and large-scale projects.

Main Man­date

Funam­bules Médias’ Ciné­ma sous les étoiles is an out­door social and polit­i­cal doc­u­men­tary film fes­ti­val in Mon­tre­al and its sur­round­ings. This year, for the first time, the fes­ti­val is com­ing to the Brome-Mis­siquoi region. Orga­niz­ing this fes­ti­val in this region is the main man­date of the select­ed person.

Role Report­ing to the gen­er­al coor­di­na­tion, the pro­duc­tion coor­di­na­tor is respon­si­ble for estab­lish­ing and imple­ment­ing the pro­duc­tion sched­ule of Ciné­ma sous les étoiles, ensur­ing the smooth run­ning of events while respect­ing the pro­gram­ming con­tent, part­ner require­ments, sched­ules, and bud­gets. As part of their duties, the select­ed per­son will super­vise the tech­ni­cal coor­di­na­tor and assis­tant coor­di­na­tors who may join the team as contractors.


This posi­tion is fund­ed by Cana­da Sum­mer Jobs: the can­di­date must meet the fol­low­ing criteria:

Be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of employ­ment; Be a Cana­di­an cit­i­zen, per­ma­nent res­i­dent, or des­ig­nat­ed as a refugee under the Immi­gra­tion and Refugee Pro­tec­tion Act for the dura­tion of employ­ment; Have a valid Social Insur­ance Num­ber at the start of employ­ment and be legal­ly autho­rized to work in Canada.

Main Respon­si­bil­i­ties

Coor­di­na­tion and Team Management

Ensure the imple­men­ta­tion and coor­di­na­tion of Ciné­ma sous les étoiles, whether online or in-per­son, tak­ing into account the bud­get defined by the gen­er­al coor­di­na­tion; Estab­lish and main­tain the fes­ti­val’s pro­duc­tion sched­ule in col­lab­o­ra­tion with team mem­bers; Man­age the sched­ules of the tech­ni­cal team, ani­ma­tion team, and oth­er free­lancers, if applic­a­ble; Ensure the smooth run­ning of activ­i­ties both in terms of tech­ni­cal qual­i­ty and inter­nal rela­tions; Pro­duce dai­ly schedules.


Ensure, in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the tech­ni­cal coor­di­na­tor, the man­age­ment and main­te­nance of equip­ment, includ­ing inven­to­ry and stor­age. Before the screenings:

Ensure main­te­nance and upkeep of equip­ment Ensure that pro­jec­tion equip­ment is prop­er­ly set up on the com­put­er (fea­ture film, short film, slide, and adver­tise­ment) Pre­pare video and sound pro­jec­tion equip­ment Dur­ing the screenings:

Con­tribute to the set­up, smooth run­ning, and dis­man­tling of pro­jec­tion equip­ment Ensure image and sound tests before the screen­ing Man­age the sound con­sole and micro­phones dur­ing dis­cus­sions Be able to react in case of tech­ni­cal problems


Col­lab­o­rate in the devel­op­ment of the pro­duc­tion bud­get and ensure its fol­low-up; Ensure fol­low-up of invoic­ing for all activities.


Rel­e­vant expe­ri­ence in event or fes­ti­val pro­duc­tion; Inter­est and knowl­edge of the doc­u­men­tary film indus­try; Excel­lent orga­ni­za­tion­al skills, rig­or, and pro­fes­sion­al­ism; Strong inter­per­son­al skills, team man­age­ment, and lead­er­ship; Resource­ful­ness, auton­o­my, ini­tia­tive, and flex­i­bil­i­ty; Excel­lent mas­tery of Office suite soft­ware, espe­cial­ly Excel; Good mas­tery of Google Dri­ve; Excel­lent writ­ing skills in French; Abil­i­ty to work under pres­sure and man­age mul­ti­ple projects simul­ta­ne­ous­ly; Abil­i­ty to per­form bud­get mon­i­tor­ing; Knowl­edge of the Zone Fes­ti­val plat­form (an asset); Basic knowl­edge of Word­Press (an asset).
